Player Profile: Josh Smith
Smith, a senior honor roll student may arguably do his best athletic work on the baseball diamond. The slugging 1st baseman earned 1st team all PTC honors, as well as Offensive Player of the Year for the his team. On the hardwood, Smith combines an inside/outside threat with a s strong desire to dominate the boards. His 6'1" frame is not very imposing but at the end of the play, his teammates and coaches are confident he'll come down with the rebound. His basketball achievements include Honorable Mention All-Ohio, PTC All-Star, First Team All District IV and finishing in the top 3 in the entire county with 11.2 rebounds per game. Get to know him a little better through the first installment of player profiles.

Josh is a much better basketball player than he is a baseball player.
Some additions, insights, and questions:
1. Josh is the 11th best Calculus student in the school.
2. "Rock, rap, and country"??? C'mon....pick a side. Surprised your favorite team wasn't "Cavs, Lakers, Celtics, and Magic"
3. Spurgeon backed up his claim when faced with a bear in Montana in 2008 in the following way: He froze, hid behind a tree, and waited for the bear to leave. Thankfully, there are no trees to hide behind in the Smith Gym and he is forced to show some sort of bravado....even if it is fake.
4. Josh is currently the North American Inter-Gender Boxing Champion, having tried to beat up the toughest girl in school.
5. I assume he will one day risk his professional future by killing his Caculus teacher during surgery....several hundred people will testify that "that guy had it coming".
GOOD LUCK HORNETS!! BEAT WATERLOO!!!
Nice post Sam. Just to add to it:
1. Josh is like the 4th best Physics student. Thank goodness rebounds are factored in to the 9 weeks exam grade.
2. Agreed. Sounds like a politician.
3. Thanks for that interpretation. Here is how I remember it: Big Grizzly stumbled upon....No hill to run down....Stayed perfectly still and scowled at it, giving me what the bible calls a "psychological advantage"....Fortunately for the bear and I, it abated....Had it not, my theory of bears being purely offensive and having no real defense would have been put to the test....I still contend that it was not mentally prepared for me to charge it.
4. Had the bear been a female, I would have had to abate on philosophical grounds.
5. That's precious.
