Player Profile: Stu Campbell

Stu, the 6'6" post, has found his niche coming off the bench for the Hornets. Easily East Canton's best passing big man, Stu has shown constant and consistent improvement over the course of his senior season. He has a soft shooting touch with range all the way out to the 3-point line. His size allows him to be a force on the boards at both ends of the court. Learn more about Stu in this installment of Player Profiles.

There has been some controversy over whether Stu Campbell can or cannot dunk the basketball. There also may or may not be private wagers being placed on his capability to do so. It is about time he proves it to us all. Therefore, I am starting the "Let Stu Dunk" campaign to encourage others to pass the ball to Stu on breakaways, look for him on alley-oop plays, or maybe even let him jump off your back to give him a few inch boost when he attempting to "get up." Time is ticking, Stu. Better dust off those Jump Soles.

Stu is arguably the most important piece of any long tournament run. He has been doing a great job the last part of the season giving us added depth and scoring. I have even seen him play some inspired defense. With the hornets able to rotate another good player into the game, they become very dangerous. He has come a LONG way from "the corner of softness"...........

Because being completely complimentary freaks out the players.........Stu's favorite class is relationship matters because he never attends any of his other classes on a regular basis. He might LOVE geometry....we'll just never know because he doesn't go. Only Zell is in the hallway more.

Stay tough stu! If any sign of a decline in toughness. There is a corner in room 208 of East Canton High School with your name and face all over it.

True Story:

Stu had a layup against Woodridge. I received a text message 10 minutes later that read "Did Stu dunk?". Apparently, another fan was so impressed that Stu was running full speed and did not fall down, that she (we all know a boy would never make this mistake) BELIEVED it was a dunk.

I have also had discussions with the superindendent, 3 teachers, 5 fans, and several students that all go like this:

them: Dunk it Stu!!!

me: leave him alone

them: you mean he can't dunk?

me: he's just trying not to fall down

Maybe when the game is decided we can all clear the lane so we can get a sportscenter highlight......just like they have to do in the WNBA.

Just keep playing the way you are Stu. You are doing a great job.
